Deleting conversations and files
How to delete a conversation, with or without the documents you attached, and how to remove files from the Document library.

Deleting conversations and files in dikaio.ai When a matter is over, you decide what stays in your account. Find the conversation in the sidebar. When you hover over it, the three dots, «Options», appear. Click «Options» and select «Delete». The «Delete Conversation» window asks you to confirm. With files, «Delete attached documents?» appears too. Click «Delete», or «Cancel» to change your mind. The conversation leaves your list. To remove files without opening a chat: «Document library», select files, «Delete», then «Delete permanently». Deleting cannot be undone, for a file or a conversation. Keep a copy of anything you need. You decide what stays in your account, without asking support.
What it is
You can delete a conversation yourself and, if you wish, the documents you attached to it. You can also remove files directly from the Document library. There is no need to ask support.
Why it helps
When a matter is over, or when a client asks, you want to clear out what you no longer need. That way you decide what stays in your account, and your list stays tidy. For sensitive questions you do not want saved in the first place, see the guide "Incognito chats".
How to get started
Find the conversation
In the sidebar, find the conversation in your list. If you have many, use the conversation search.
Open the options
Hover over the conversation, click the three dots («Options») and select «Delete».
Decide about the documents
The «Delete Conversation» window asks if you are sure. If the conversation has attachments, you will also see the option «Delete attached documents?». If you switch it on, all documents attached to the conversation are deleted too. If you upload them again later, the per-page charges apply again.
Confirm
Click «Delete». To change your mind, click «Cancel». The conversation disappears from your list.
Delete files from the Document library
To remove files without opening their conversations, open the «Document library», select the files and click «Delete». The app shows which chats they will be removed from. To finish, click «Delete permanently».
