What it is

"Summarize document" is a ready-made action in Dikaio.ai. You upload a legal text, such as a contract, a claim or a judgment, and receive a summary of its essential points.

Why it helps

A long document often needs a general picture first: who the parties are, what was agreed, which deadlines and obligations apply. The summary gives you that up front and shows where a careful read is worth your time.

You can then ask follow-up questions in the same conversation, without re-reading the whole text.

How to get started

  1. Select the action

In the left sidebar, click the arrow next to the «New conversation» button and select «Summarize document». On the start screen the same action appears as a button under the message box, titled «Document Summary». If you cannot see it, your organisation may have turned file uploads off.

  2. Attach the document

The «Document Summary» window opens. Drag your file in or choose it from your computer. This action works on one document at a time.

  3. Start the summary

Click «Summarize 1 file» at the bottom of the window and wait for processing to finish; the window closes by itself. The message box already contains "Summarize the attached document". You can add instructions, for example to focus on financial obligations.

  4. Send the message

Click «Send Message» and wait for the reply.

  5. Keep asking

Once the summary appears, ask more questions in the same conversation.

Tips

  • To steer the result, say what matters to you: "Summary focusing on the termination clauses".
  • A summary is a reading aid, not a replacement for your own review. Check critical points in the original.
  • Usage may consume credits depending on the size of the document.
