Translating legal documents

What it is

"Translate document" is an action in Dikaio.ai that translates your whole document into another language. You can upload a PDF, Word, ODT, PowerPoint or Excel file, a text file, a CSV or an image.

Why it helps

A foreign-language agreement or cooperation proposal becomes readable quickly, with attention to legal terminology. The result appears in a panel next to the conversation and you download it as a Word file, ready to edit or send.

For critical documents, treat the translation as a solid first working text. Review it yourself before any official use.

How to get started

   Select the action

   Click the arrow next to the «New conversation» button and select «Translate document». On the start screen the same action is a button under the message box. If you cannot see it, your organisation may have turned file uploads off.

   Attach the document

   In the «Translate Document» window, drag your file in or choose it from your computer. This action works on one document at a time. Click «Translate 1 file» at the bottom of the window and wait for processing to finish; the window closes by itself.

   Name the target language

   In the message box, say which language you want, for example "Translate document to Greek".

   Send the message

   Click «Send Message». The translation appears in the document panel. If the reply is cut off, click «Continue answering».

   Download the result

   Click «Download», then «Download as Word».

Tips

• If your file is not in a supported format, save it as PDF or Word and try again.
• You can ask for corrections in the same conversation, such as using a specific term.
• Usage may consume credits depending on the size of the document.
