Anonymizing a document
Remove personal data from a Word or text document before you share or file it, while keeping its structure and meaning.

Anonymize a document with dikaio.ai Show a document to others without exposing people: personal data is removed and the meaning stays. «Anonymize Document» is on the start screen and is available on paid plans. On the Free plan the button is greyed out, and its tooltip links to the upgrade page. On a paid plan the attach window opens. Add one Word or text file at a time. Click «Anonymize 1 file» and wait for the message that the document is available. The request text fills in by itself. Click «Send Message». Read the new text carefully. When you are happy with it, click «Download» as Word or PDF. The result is an aid: check it before you share it
What it is
Document anonymization is a Dikaio.ai feature that removes personal data and sensitive information from a document. The structure and the meaning of the text stay the same, so the document remains readable and coherent.
You find it as the «Anonymize Document» button on the new-chat screen. It is available on paid plans only. On a Free plan the button is greyed out, and the app tells you the feature is for paid users.
Why it helps
A lawyer often needs to show a document to someone else without exposing the people in it: a contract used as a template for a colleague, a text for team training, or a file you send to an outside adviser.
Deleting names, addresses and numbers by hand takes time, and it is easy to miss one. With Dikaio.ai you start from a clean first version and spend your time reviewing instead of hunting word by word.
The result is an aid, not a guarantee. Always check the final text before you share it, because responsibility for what is disclosed stays with you.
How to get started
Open a new chat
From the home screen of the app, click «Anonymize Document». If the button is greyed out, your plan is Free and needs an upgrade.
Attach a document
The «Attach documents» window opens by itself. Drag the file into it or pick it from your computer. If you closed it, click «Attach documents» to open it again. Only one file can be anonymized at a time. The app's message asks for a Word document or a text file.
Upload and wait
Click «Anonymize 1 file» and wait for processing to finish. Once "Your documents are available to the legal assistant." appears, the file is ready.
Send the request
The instruction text is filled in for you. Click «Send Message».
Review and download the result
Read the new text carefully. If something needs fixing, say so in the chat. When you are happy with it, click «Download» and select «Download as Word» or «Download as PDF».
Tips
- Pay special attention to details that could identify someone indirectly, such as an unusual combination of facts.
- Keep your original file as it is. The anonymized version is a separate text.
